I am a sociologist with over 20 years of research experience. For 16+ years, I worked and learned at Paco Underhill’s Envirosell, studying how consumers behave using both qualitative and quantitative methods. This exposed me to many industries as we worked on projects for many of the top U.S. and global companies in sectors such as retail, CPG/FMCG, restaurants, technology, banking, consumer electronics, transportation (rail and airports), OTC, and apparel. I’ve also worked with not-for-profits such as museums, opera houses and healthcare facilities. My work has taken me to countries in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. 

As an academic, I have taught courses in Consumer Behavior and Introduction to Sociology at Hunter College of the City University of New York and Introduction to Psychology at DeVry College of New York. 

Besides my interest in Consumer Behavior, my academic research focuses on Inequality (both income and social), Consumption, Race and Ethnicity, Emotions/Cognition and DEI as it pertains to work. My current work focuses on how ERGs influence companies and how business interests influence ERGs.

I have a B.A. in Sociology and a M.S. in Social Research from Hunter College.  Ten years after earning my M.S., I’ve returned to school to earn my Ph.D. in Sociology and am currently completing my doctorate at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. I split my time between San Diego, CA and New York City.
